Yes. Perimeter gate access control works the same way as any other access point — an offline-capable outdoor gate smart lock, or the Switch controller wired to an existing electric gate, both managed from the same dashboard. Nothing depends on a network connection reaching the boundary of the site, which is usually the hardest place to get one.
Weather and distance, mostly. A gate sits outdoors and is often the furthest point from your comms room, so the lock has to survive the elements and work without power or WiFi at the gate itself. Residential gates, commercial perimeters and shared amenities like pool and bin stores all run on the same offline credentials your unit doors use.
